CSS Galleries: More Free CSS Templates

About 6 weeks ago I published an article introducing some valuable online resources for free Web designs. In the meantime I came across more sites that offer free templates, themes, skins, or however you want to call them, for download.

Free CSS Templates

All of the resources listed below offer free downloads, browsing and live previews of templates. Some sites feature CSS templates from various designers and offer designers to upload their own templates. Each site is briefly described.

Template Navigator

Template Navigator offers many free website and flash templates that can be browsed by category. Designers can submit their own templates. According to Template Navigator they offer high quality and free templates that are moderated and checked for quality before publication.

Free Website Templates

Free Website Templates allows you to modify or redistribute their templates provided you state that you used a template originally designed by Free Website Templates. You are not required to link back to Free Website Templates from your site though.

TemplateWorkz

TemplateWorkz offers website, logo, and newsletter templates for free. You are required to link back to their site, if you use their graphics on your site.

Capmex

Capmex features templates from various Web designers. The also have a blog and tutorial section on their site.

SixShooter Media

SixShooter Media features some clean fresh CSS templates that are not overloaded with graphics. You are required to leave a link to SixShooter Media in the template footer if you use one of their templates.

CMS Templates and Themes

The resources listed below offer free templates for download that can be used with website systems such as Drupal, Wordpress, Expression Engine, BB Press, phpBB, CMSimple, and Blogger.

Fresheezy

Fresheezy mainly features Wordpress themes but also templates for Expression Engine, BB Press, phpBB, and Blogger. You can search by keywords or by applying filters based on engine, number of columns, color scheme, and license. Most of the templates look as if they are 100% Web 2.0 compliant ;)

Gutenberg

Gutenberg is a raw theme for Drupal that lets you use CSS based Movable Type layout styles with Drupal without modification.

DotcomWebDesign

DotcomWebDesign has lots of templates you can download and use with the content management system CMSimple.

Recommended Web Design Books

Some books you can buy on Amazon that guide you on how to design your own unique template with HTML and CSS.

How about Open Source Web Design? I believe they are about the oldest free template site out there, for over 5 years now. The templates have increased a lot in quality the last 2 years, becoming more and more graphical.

G`day Ramiro, This is an excellent resource on Free CSS Templates, i`m currently putting together a CSS Video Tutorial Site on a very tight budget, haven`t been able to find the right CSS Template though until I found this page. These Templates are good watch around for the trends in web design so far. But I think the clean web 2.0 will be replaced by a more lively and dirty look. Best regards Kirsten

The site template navigator is a great ressource. There i found good templates and suggestions.
