Google, Microsoft and Yahoo Agree on Sitemaps Standard

Good news for Webmasters and SEOs. The big three in the search engine market Google, Microsoft and Yahoo agreed to support Google's Sitemaps protocol.

Thus the Google sitemaps protocol has become a de-facto Web standard. Congrats to Google for one further step towards world domination.

You can find more information on the new web site: www.sitemaps.org.

This should make site management easier for us all, currently i have a sitemap.xml and a URLlist.txt. Can be a bit of a pain at times but good to see search engines agreeing to same standard
