John Chow Still Makes Money Online

I am sure this is true, though linkbait genius John Chow doesn't rank for make money online on Google any more. Even when searching for John Chow his site doesn't show up on the first result page, I haven't looked at the second.

I read his blog earlier this year for a few weeks, and I think it's somehow surprising that Google took so long to ban his site, maybe his AdSense revenue was so high that Google was afraid of loosing too much money.

So why now? Is he selling too many links or did he write too much about tricking visitors or search engines? Google knows it, Matt Cutts probably knows it too, and maybe John will rank again in a few days, weeks or months.

I guess he gets enough visitors without Google and still monetizes his blog without AdSense. From his writings I know that he's blogging for fun and has enough other sources of income. Who will be the next link buyer or seller banned from Google's search index? You?

A simple recipe not to get banned by Google is: don't buy links but AdWords and don't sell links but display AdSense advertising on your site.

Banning paid links is a dangerous slippery slope for Google. If it starts to look like "only Adwords and Adsense powered sites won't be banned" then Google is going to lose all of their credibility. They have to be very careful here. Afterall, what's a display banner ad if it's not a "paid link". Good blog, ramiro. I'm a Drupal fan myself. :)

Google already lost credibility. More and more people critisize Google. In Germany, for example, there is no other major search engine, that plays a role in the search market, except Google, but people start to realize, that this is getting dangerous somehow.

One thing John Chow pointed out in his blog reaction to being banned is that all top 10 sites found through Google when searching for his name point to his site. People will start wondering why the search results are so awkward.

Thanks for your feedback Greg! Your blog looks quite interesting too. My feed reader just got some more food ;)

i read your blog john chow its quite shocking news about google. google is one of the top search engine in the world, if it bans the paid links means definetly it loses it credibility as you said. especially Adsense is yeilding good money through paid links. not only the money google going to lose also the trust and fame. so Google can take some other decision to solve this problem. for informations about Auto Isurance visit http://www.knowautoinsurance.com/
Google may have lost credability, but theyhaven't lost much money over it!
