I am a guy interested in SEO otherwise I wouldn't run SEO Expert Blog and I probably would not read other SEO blogs. But I do so and one of the topics I regularly read about in SEO blogs is how to gain backlinks from .edu-Domains.

Links from .edu-Domains are popular because Google and other search engines trust these educational sites often run by universities. Usually .edu-domains are in existence for quite a long time and have a high PageRank.

Porn.org using Drupal

Usually it's Dries who announces what big sites use Drupal. In my referrer log I noticed a recent visitor was searching Google for Drupal Porn and came here. Being a curious guy, I checked out the SERPs and learned that Porn.org is using Drupal.

Being even more curious, I looked for more data on Porn.org using some of the free SEO tools I recommend for SEO related tasks. The domain is older than 8 years and Porn.org should attract lots of visitors.

This is a categorized listing of 105 free SEO tools you can use for optimizing websites. For each category I give a short introduction about what the tools do. Most of them have an English interface and are web based.

Some tools need to be installed on a web server or a client connected to the Internet which is indicated in the introductory text or next to the link. Have fun trying out these free SEO tools!

The Drupal core comment module comes with a block called Recent Comments, that displays links to the latest comments, the comment author's name and the time that passed since the comment was posted.

If you configure the comment module so that users can enter their homepage URL the comment author's name displayed in the comment block is not a link to the URL entered.

Considering the huge amount of spam comments blogs receive this seems perfectly reasonably. But you can configure Drupal so that comments by anonymous user's must be approved. This way you can prevent spam comments from being displayed publicly.

John Chow runs a very successful blog about how to make money on the internet. One of the reasons for his success is that he is a linkbaiting expert. A very smart technique he makes use of is running contests, that you can enter by linking back to his blog using certain keyphrases as anchor text.

In his latest contest he is giving away a Microsoft Zune worth about $250.00. As you can see, it works.
