Today the Google Webmaster Central announced that you can now get a more complete picture about how your site is linked from other sites.

Go to Statistics - Page anaysis and you'll see a list with up to 100 phrases used as anchor text in links to your site.

Good news for Webmasters and SEOs. The big three in the search engine market Google, Microsoft and Yahoo agreed to support Google's Sitemaps protocol.

Thus the Google sitemaps protocol has become a de-facto Web standard. Congrats to Google for one further step towards world domination.

Today Smashing Magazine published a long list of web-generators that make the lives of Web developers easier.

Users of Google sitemaps are now offered some additional tools for their web sites. Googlebot activity reports are displayed as charts showing the number of pages crawled by Googlebot, the amount of data downloaded, and the average time it took downloading the pages for the last 90 days. You can control the crawl rate by opting for slower, which is useful for sites that are not updated frequently. The latest release of Google Sitemaps offers new features for website owners, including:

  • Increased crawl errors
  • Expanded query stats
  • Increased number of common words
  • Increased limit of sites and Sitemaps that can be added to an account
