The Most Incomplete List of Drupal Sites

Inspired by Dries Buytaert's regular announcements of new Drupal sites, I did some (re)search on which news sites, universities, organizations, companies, musicians, celebrities, communities, software projects, etc. are using Drupal for their websites. The result is the following list of sites, that impressed me somehow. Of course the list is far from complete, so feel free to post Drupal sites you like in the comments.

Bands, Musicians and Celebrities

Communities and Social Networks

Companies and Business

Lifestyle, Gossip and Humor

Media, Music, Podcasts and Video

News Sites, Newspapers and Magazines

Open Source, Software and Development

Organizations and Activism

Universities, Research and Education

You're missing about 40 sites for warner bros. records :)

That is the exact reason why I called it the most incomplete list of Drupal sites ;)

We are in the process of launching lot's of sites based on Drupal. We currently have a more or less static main site, 4 blogs and 10 guides where we publish some 5-10.000 new articles per day. Before the end of this year we're launching 34 additional guides and new functionality is been implemented on a daily basis too. Thanks to Drupal to make all this possible. It's a fantastic system. You can find the sites here: http://www.my-ani.com
http://www.sis.utk.edu School of Information Sciences and http://www.cci.utk.edu College of Communication & Information at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville
Good list. Here's a wiki page of showcase sites with some more: http://groups.drupal.org/node/6876

Why is Drupal so popular? I have heard alot of people very gung ho about this lately. What are the benefits to using it? Is it SEO friendly?

Look at the sites linked in this article and you can see what can be done with Drupal. Moreover, Drupal is very flexible, extensible, powerful, has a cool user and developer community, etc. Drupal simply rocks.

Hi, I am going to be adding Drupal show case sites to the front page of Drupal.org. Do you think you could look at this list of the best show case sites and see if you think any of your showcase sites are better representatives of a category. http://groups.drupal.org/node/6876 Cheers, Kieran

Hi Kieran, great list of sites. I added the European Resistance Archive website to the NPO - non-showcase section. It combines many technolgies and has something to say, which is an important criterion to consider. A more in-depth post about the site can be found in the drupal.org showcase forum.

Neat. We've been thinking about Drupal as a CMS for our new site. Also looking at Joomla, DotNetNuke, and straight out Wordpress. All seem to be quite SEO friendly. Anyone have any suggestions?

She has also set-up the forum and started posting to the blog. You can see it here http://www.epilepsymoms.com.
